When registering for the EMR program you will need to answer the following questions. Answers to these questions will determine if you qualify to participate in the program.
Are you:
1) the owner of the multi-unit property you wish to retrofit, or
2) if the property is held in Trust, are you the trustee, or
3) if owned by an LLC, are you member of the LLC, or
4) if the property owned by corporation, are you a representative who has legal authority to act on behalf of the owner?
Did you receive a Notice and Order to Retrofit letter from your city requiring you to retrofit this soft-story residential building?
I understand that this is a FEMA-funded grant, and if the building is in a Special Flood Hazard Area I will be required to submit a signed and notarized form attesting that I will adhere to FEMA Flood Insurance requirements (see Help for details) before any EMR incentive payment will be paid.
How many stories does the building have?
How many legally permitted residential dwelling units does the building have?
Is the bulding of wood-frame construction?
Does the building already have an existing qualifying retrofit in place?
Have you ever received a Federal incentive payment for this building for a seismic retrofit?
Do you understand that retrofitting your building will not make it earthquake proof and that it could still be damaged in an earthquake?
Does your house have an existing qualifying retrofit of the living space over garage already in place?
Have you received an incentive payment for this house for a soft-story seismic retrofit from CEA, CRMP or any other entity?
